Student accommodation funds-investors advised not to panic- what next?

You may have seen that the biggest provider of student accomodation funds is having liquidity problems and has been forced to suspend its portfolio whilst it tries to sell some property because of uncertainty in the market. Investors have been advised “not to panic!” Of course that is all well and good but if you need access to your capital or are relying on your funds to provide pension income then that is of little comfort. Perhaps there was something more comforting about those tried and tested Morningstar rated funds after all?
